Duck Dynasty Star Makes Bonkers Claim: You Dont Need Health Care, Just Jesus

Instead of medicine, he said, people just need more Jesus: Robertson took exception to Sen. Kamala Harris (D-Calif.) backing a “Medicare for all” plan to create a single-payer system for health care.  It’s given to me by God. Eternal health care,” he said.  “But people get sick on Earth in human form,” he said. “The temporary reprieve is not worth it. I’m telling her, I have eternal health care and it’s free. Doctors can give you a little temporary reprieve, but they cannot save you from physical death. The doctors who treat you, they die, too.” “But you’re not dismissing that we need, people need health care, right?” Cavuto asked.  Robertson is 72; he did not address the other 22 …

Tortoise-Inspired Capsules Deliver Insulin To The Stomach Without Injections

A particularly unpleasant side effect of diabetes, especially if you’re squeamish, is having to inject yourself with insulin on a daily basis. Being able to administer insulin in an easier way, like swallowing a pill, would greatly ease the burden of patients with the condition. Now, researchers at MIT have developed just that – so far, it’s only been trialed in animals, but it’s certainly an exciting start. They’ve created a small pill about the size of a blueberry that can be swallowed. It contains a tiny needle made of freeze-dried compressed insulin, which is released and injected into the stomach’s lining. If that sounds a bit painful, worry not – your stomach wall has no pain receptors. A problem …

Researchers May Have Found A Link Between Depression And Gut Bacteria

Depression and quality of life appear to be associated with certain species of bacteria found in the human gut, according to a new study by Belgian researchers. The authors found that two groups of bacteria, Coprococcus and Dialister, were depleted in people suffering from depression. The findings are reported in Nature Microbiology. The research team found this correlation by combining the fecal microbiome data of 1,054 individuals enrolled in the Flemish Gut Flora Project with their mental health diagnoses. They then validated the finding by studying an independent group of 1,063 people from the Dutch LifeLinesDEEP cohort and a group of clinically depressed patients at the University Hospitals Leuven. “The relationship between gut microbial metabolism and mental health is a controversial topic in microbiome …

I asked God to end the suffering in my life What happened next stunned me

I know a number of single people who long to be married. They’ve checked all the right boxes – they’re financially stable, physically fit and godly – but nobody seems to notice them. SOMEBODY LEFT AN ANONYMOUS GIFT FOR ME – I HOPE I NEVER FIND OUT WHO DID IT I was working out the other day and I got frustrated as I came to God with one of my own requests for Him to end suffering in my life. Finally, I tried to make myself feel better by saying, “I guess this is my story.” What I meant was that “this is my cross to bear and I need to live my story without complaining.” But I started sensing that “this is …

Denver Is Pushing To Decriminalize Magic Mushrooms

Denver is taking steps towards the decriminalization of magic mushrooms. A petition by the Denver Psilocybin Mushroom Decriminalization Initiative has reached the required number of signatures to mandate a city-wide vote. As a result, citizens of the Colorado capital will be able to vote on the question of psilocybin decriminalization on the May 7, 2019 Municipal Election ballot.  The Denver proposal will not directly make magic mushrooms legal, like a cup of coffee or a beer, per se. Instead, it seeks to make the drug a “lowest law-enforcement priority” by prohibiting the city from imposing criminal penalties on people over 21 for the use and personal possession of psilocybin mushrooms. “An estimated 1 in 6 Americans are taking psychiatric medication, and …

Long-Lasting Contraception Use In American Women Increased Significantly Following The 2016 Election

Following the 2016 presidential election, the number of American women opting for long-acting reversible contraceptive (LARC) methods, such as intrauterine devices (IUD) or implanted devices, increased by more than 20 percent, according to a new Harvard study. Writing in JAMA Internal Medicine, the researchers cite the reason being fears over changes regarding contraceptive access should the Trump Administration repeal the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act (ACA). “Our findings could reflect a response to fears of losing contraceptive coverage because of President Trump’s opposition to the ACA or an association of the 2016 election with reproductive intentions or LARC awareness,” wrote the authors, adding that concerns about future potential reductions in access might affect women’s contraceptive choices. In order to control for …
